Students Perform at Erie Playhouse

Students from the Elizabeth Lee Black School were treated to applause from a nearly full house after a successful performance on Thursday, May 23.

Students from three classrooms took the stage of the Erie Playhouse after months of practice for The Rainbow Fish, a short musical based on the children's book by Marcus Pfister. This show stems from the partnership between the Playhouse and Barber National Institute who collaborate annually to make theater and the performing arts accessible to children with disabilities.

Orchestrating the performance was Trisha Yates and assistant Maeve Kirby, who worked with the children since the beginning to help them learn the key elements of the show: singing, rhythm and friendship.
