Grandparent Autism Support Group Meeting October 11th
Are you the grandparent of a child with autism? Join the Barber National Institute, along with fellow grandparents and caregivers, for the first Grandparent Autism Support Group session on Thursday, October 11 from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Breakout Room at the Institute.
The meetings will guide grandparents in better understanding how a developmental disability affects their grandchild and how important a grandparent’s role in their life is. Attendees will also have a chance to meet the “Kids on the Block,” puppeteers, a troupe of puppets with and without disabilities who teach children about differences in people.
Family Support Services through the Barber National Institute encourages grandparents to come together to share personal experiences in an atmosphere of support and friendship. Reservations are appreciated by calling (814) 878-5961.
