DSP Certification Congratulations Kimberly Forrester

By earning your national certification, you've not only expanded your skills but also contribute to the high-quality care and support we provide to individuals with intellectual disabilities.

"I was able to connect my real life experiences as a DSP with the information I was learning in the courses and the testimonials I was writing. I was able to see how I am growing and learning in my path as a DSP. The courses are self-directed so I could complete them on my own schedule.  The process can seem overwhelming at times but completing the courses has helped me to recognize and appreciate the skills and knowledge I have gained during my time as a DSP," said Kim.

National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP) has developed a national certification program for Direct Support Professionals.  The certification program requires over 500 hours of educational training and is known for its powerful benefits to DSPs, the people they support and employers.

  • DSPs benefit from learning and applying best practices and evidence-based skills and knowledge in the workplace.
  • People receiving support from certified DSPs benefit from partnering with highly trained professionals who are committed to supporting them ethically and effectively through the skills they have mastered.
  • Organizations who employ credentialed DSPs can provide stronger assurances of quality to people supported, allowing for funders to proudly market their employment of nationally certified staff.
