Direct Support Professional

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Residential - you will be making a direct impact on the lives of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. From meal preparation to trips in the park, DSPs provide support every step of the way in residential group homes located in Erie, Fairview and Girard, PA.
Teacher Assistant

As a Teacher Assistant, you will be providing support to children with developmental disabilities in a classroom setting. Work as a team player in the Elizabeth Lee Black School, Nationally designated “School of Excellence” for 14 years and approved private school, that offers a range of educational program choices designed to help all children achieve their potential.

Founded by Dr. Gertrude A. Barber in 1952, the Barber National Institute is recognized worldwide for as an organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and adults with intellectual disabilities and autism.
The Barber National Institute offers a range of services that includes early intervention for infants and toddlers, an inclusive preschool, an Autism Center offering diagnosis and treatment, an approved private school, job training and placement, residential options including community group homes and Lifesharing, in-home services, specialized therapies and behavioral health supports. Our organization also provides education and training to educators and professionals around the world.
In addition to our main campus in Erie, PA, and we also provide services in Warren, Forest and Crawford Counties, in Bedford and Somerset, PA, and in the Philadelphia and Pittsburgh regions
